Summer Holiday Drama Courses
Ufton Drama Summer School
25th July - 2nd August
The Ufton Drama Summer School is an annually run residential course. It will improve your drama skills, teach you about an important aspect of theatre history and, hopefully, help you to learn about yourself and others. Aimed at students 15+, the 2008 summer course is a practical weeks exploration of Commedia d'ell Arte. Essentially the genre at the very root of all comic theatre, the week is a hugely enjoyable experience and is a must for anyone interested in physical comedy theatre.

Thrift Theatre Camps
3rd - 8th August
11th - 15th August
Our Camps are places where young people can come and celebrate their creativity. Camp is place to come if you want to meet like minded people, and to work intensively in a safe and secure environment with professional artists from the world of Theatre. We don't pick up scripts and rehearse. We create spaces to play in, & improvise together to transform the experiences of the camp into performance.
Everyone who comes on one of our camps is promised a unique experience. We seek out unusual and exciting places to work, and in 2008 hope to be able to take a group of Thrifters to both Europe & New York.
Most of the other young people attending these camps will be over 15, but this is not a rule, just a guideline. We get a good spread of ages coming to work with us, and we believe that working with a diverse age range helps build the family atmosphere we actively promote during our camps.
There is no formal selection process for our Camps, and anyone is welcome to attend. The only requirement is that you are passionate about Music Theatre! Even though we do not currently receive any funding, we always try to subsidise places for those people who might not be able to afford the course fee.
