Tithe Barn Weddings in Berkshire & Hampshire
GENERAL FAQS FOR WEDDINGS AT UFTON COURT
Q: What is included in the hire charge for weddings at Ufton Court?
A: The hire charge for Summer season (May to October) weddings at Ufton Court includes hire of tithe barn, archer’s hall, wedding marquee and bridal room (which the bride can use as a base during the wedding day to put on makeup, keep spare shoes/clothes for evening or going away bag). Also included are 6ft round tables for wedding breakfast, wooden Calcutta chairs, trestle tables for top table/cake/gifts, 3 wooden IKEA high chairs and an easle for table plan.
The hire charge for Winter season (November to April) wedding at Ufton Court includes all of the above, plus 2 reception rooms in the manor house for 2 hours for reception drinks, and flaming torches to light the pathway between the house and barn.
Q: Do you supply any extra items?
A: Ufton Court can supply garden games (giant jenga, croquet, quoits, table tennis etc), glass hurricane lamps with candles for table centrepieces or window sills, bunting and prop basket for fun photos at a nominal cost for your wedding. A list of items to hire can be downloaded from this page or found in the bridal welcome pack sent by your wedding co-ordinator.
Q: Do you charge corkage?
A: No we don’t. You can bring your own alcohol for the wedding reception drinks, wedding breakfast and toast. In the evening the caterers will run a bar for your wedding.
Q: What are the timings for a typical wedding day at Ufton Court?
A: A civil ceremony lasts for 20-25 minutes, reception drinks no more than 2 hours, and wedding breakfast 2-2 ½ hours depending on speeches.
Q: Can we use our own caterer for our wedding at Ufton Court?
A: No. When you sit down for your wedding breakfast, your wedding co-ordinator hands over site responsibility to the caterer. Our three preferred caterers have worked with us over a number of years so know all our site emergency contacts and assembly points, we have checked all their certificates and credentials and they are familiar with the catering equipment at Ufton Court. They are also responsible for checking in and out all the table cloths, crockery, cutlery, glassware and providing friendly, reliable staff and delicous food.
Q: Do we have to use any of your other preferred wedding suppliers?
A: Only the caterer. Our preferred wedding supplier list is all people we know from previous weddings at Ufton Court who we trust to deliver a great service.
Q: Can we have fireworks at our wedding at Ufton Court?
A: Yes you may book fireworks with a licensed firework company. Please liaise with your wedding co-ordinator to arrange a site visit for your firework company to do a risk assessment and show insurance certificates.
Q: Are we allowed candles at our Ufton Court Wedding?
A: Yes as long as the candle is contained, either in a tea light holder or hurricane lantern.
Q: Do you have a PA system for music, microphone or a projector/screen for the wedding speeches?
A: These can all be hired through Mark Haste, Tailor Made Hire on our wedding suppliers list or through your DJ.
Q: Do you offer accommodation for weddings at Ufton Court?
A: We do not offer accommodation however please see a list of Local Accommodation here.
FAQS FOR WEDDINGS IN THE TITHE BARN AT UFTON COURT
Q: What is the seating capacity for weddings in the tithe barn at Ufton Court?
A: Maximum capacity is 150 seated on round 6ft tables for the formal wedding breakfast and up to 200 for an evening buffet. You can download the Tithe Barn measeurements here.
Q: What time can we get into the tithe barn on our wedding day and what time do we have to leave?
A: The tithe barn will be open from 9am. We ask for last orders to be 11.15pm, last dance 11.30pm and carriages to be at midnight.
Q: Is there a restriction on the noise of a band/DJ in the tithe barn?
A: No we don’t have a sound limiter in the tithe barn at Ufton Court.
Q: Who is responsible for the tithe barn setup on the day of our wedding at Ufton Court?
A: Your wedding co-ordinator will ensure that all your suppliers are met and items put in place. The catering team will lay the tables and set out the table decorations, place cards etc.
Q: Do we have to take everything away on the night?
A: We ask that all valuables, cards/presents and left over alcohol is taken away on the night by a designated person in your wedding party. Any remaining items will need to be collected by 10am the following morning.
FAQS FOR USE OF THE GROUNDS AT UFTON COURT FOR WEDDINGS
Q: Can we threw confetti?
A: Yes, bio-degradable confetti can be thrown on the barn terrace courtyard.
Q: How much parking is there and can we leave cars overnight?
A: There are 50 spaces available in the carpark and 100 car spaces available on the grass. Yes you can leave cars at your own risk overnight as long as they are collected by 10am next day.
Q: Can we have a photographs taken in the grounds even if we don’t hire the house?
A: Yes. If you would like to arrange a pre-visit with your photographer, please liaise with your wedding co-ordinator to ensure the date and site are free.
Q: What is the size of the wedding marquee?
A: The wedding marquee measures 6x9m.

Q: What are the measurements of the window sills in the house for floral decorations etc?
