At Ufton Court we strive to bring history to life and drama is a powerful platform for achieving this.  Following the great success of our drama activity, 'The Raid', the Education Team is now proud to present three new drama packages which would fit perfectly into any day visit or residential programme.

Option A - Mummers' Plays

Why not try out our comic rhyming 'Mummers' Plays' and answer key questions in the curriculum at the same time?  Have fun and fool around in an expandable cast of courtiers and noblemen.  This day is suitable for any group size up to 60 young people and comes with a choice of play...

Play 1: King Henry & The Six Wives

Learn hysterical historical facts in hilarious rhyme and answer the question 'Why did Henry marry six times?'

Play 2: Who Built the House of Tudor?

Solve the mystery of our Tudor history.  Fight the War of the Roses in a battle for weath, power and alliance.  Whose side are you on and who is the man with the plan that no man can?

Option B - Tales from Ufton - The Perkins Case

A forum style piece exploring the religious conflicts of the Protestant & Catholic clash.  Follow the Perkins family on a learning journey through the most dangerous time in Ufton Court's history.

Through documented drama and real life Tudor characters we will explore tensions and conflicts that raise some big questions.  Would you inform 'strange goings on' with the promise of a great fortune?  What will the consequences be for the family?

Option C - Tudor Explorers - Mantle of the Expert

Compasses, sea monsters and precious gold, Tudor Explorers with stories untold!

Become Francis Drake, sail the Golden Hind, help circumnavigate the globe.  Who knows, you could be the one to help discover the Americas!

A dramatic enquiry approach to learning.  Through play and improvisation children will be presented with an urgent dilemma.

Imagine you are Tudor Explorers, your ship has hit rough waters.  You need to navigate to land and get your crew to safety.

Mantle of the Expert harnesses play and imagination to develop confident, creative problem solving and critical thinking skills.
